Mark H mod -as Bumper Off anything else worth doing!!!
Mark H mod -as Bumper Off anything else worth doing!!!
Hi
I am going to be fitting the mark h mod in a few days time and was wondering if there is anything else worth doing/upgrading/changing/looking at, while the bumper is off.
Check the state of the rear of the interwarmer in case there's any damage from the front pulley. A solid snub mount is a good idea, you can modify a VW golf mk.1 one to fit I did a thread on it a while ago courtesy of S2Avant's original idea.

I think thats ott, there is no need to change or upgrade the snub mount unless your going for big power and the oem one cant stop the engine lift.
Its worth checking all the clips on the boost pipes while the bumper is off. And always use new ones as they tend to thread themselves. Especially the ones Audi supply.
Other then that, maybe replace the DV while you have good access to it, if its old that is.
Thanks For the Advice, Are The Standard Intercoolers That bad on these? i will replace the jubilee clips with t-bolts, roughly how many will i need and what size ranges, i guess 2 each side of intercooler (mark h mod) plus any other pipes.
1 on the turbo
1 on the intercooler from turbo
4 smaller on the dv hoses and dv
2 at the mark h mod
2 on the hose from ic to intercooler piping
and 4 between throttle body and intercooler piping. 2 of them goes to the Idle control valve
sizes i dont know.
One thing i've learned we are way behind the Scandinavians!
Normal Jubilee clips are more then enough, its just worth replacing them 'if' your taking old ones off.
Also check your V belts and see if they are all in good health still
