Late last week my car developed a loud knocking noise at the back end. I immediately thought it was the exhaust, but when I tried to move it it seemed quite solid. So I took it into Kwik Fit (yes I know 
) yesterday and they stuck it up on a ramp. Turns out the whole exhaust from just behind the cats had slipped backwards 2 inches. 
This resulted in one of the hangers on the back box falling out! It also managed to cut/melt its way into the rear bumber! 
I've no idea what caused it, but they slackened off the bolts, hit it with a rubber mallet and it all went back together nicely.
While I was there I also got the tyres removed from 5 spare alloy wheels that I had hiding under my bed. Total cost for both jobs was £0.00. Nothing! Zilch! Free!
Not bad for a company that everyone slags off.
