Does the PS work with stock inlet manifold, pipework etc.?

Typical thickness for a PS is 10mm, so your manifold will move up and away from the head accordingly. I would guess this would cause issues on a standard setup.

I've fitted one on mine and didn't have to change anything.

As in does it reduce inlet temps?

Thinking about how it works, I'd suggest it's fractions rather than a big change and then at low gas velocities, when the inlet is not being cooled by the air moving through it.

I think it's BS to be honest. Think about the gas velocity through the manifold. Maybe with one of these you can drop the intake temp a few degrees for a few hundred yards after sitting in traffic. After a decent run I can pop the bonnet on mine and the IM is cool to touch. Also where the IAT sensor is located on the manifold, even if they had an effect I can't see it register any performance increase anyway, in fact the reverse is possible. At WOT the ECU will still be fuelling based on its map against the charge temps entering the IM. If they are in fact cooler, you will be running leaner AFR.

i would say it stops heat transfer to inlet, I had one on 1.8t and yes it worked not fitted 1 on s2 so can't say but I would think it would work as well

Yes, it may reduce IAT sensor heat soak when in slow traffic or when hot engine has been shut and started again. But at WOT... propably no difference.

That's the conclusion I came to. Would make my commute to work 0.5s faster

im with error. id say it doesn't work to the exent its worth the effort. also the ait sensor im sure is designed to not be overly affected by manifold temps.

IAT temp can easily rise from 20C to 50-60C when the hot engine is turned off. Don't know how factory motronic is setup to handle this nicely on engine start, but it can be difficult to adjust on standalone ecu systems.

It will make the intake runners slightly longer.
