easy enough to replicate, dont think i have the photos anymore, carbon cut to shape of the interior trims,5 coats of 2k laquer for a nice deep finish then bonded to the original aluminium trim pieces after peeling of the perforated leather

did yours have the blue flek in it like genuine or was it just normal carbon?

I recently completed the DIY instructions for overlaying the C4 UrS-car automatic climate control surround with carbon fibre cloth and resin. Darin Nederhoff has graciously offered to host the pdf on S-cars.org. The link is:

I've been thinking about doing this for a few bits and pieces just becasue i'm a bit of a carbon tart

Looks quite tricky to get right, but worth the effort

Was that your first attempt Dave? Any pics of the fitted article?

The surround in the photo was my second attempt. The first attempt turned out equally fine but with a few flaws that only I would find. The first one was over a walnut surround (which is two pieces, the metal-backed walnut veneer-plywood clips into a plastic base that clips into the console (at least on a C4)). The second, shown in the photos was over a plain black plastic one-piece surround like in my 93 S4 (with CF trim).

The link to my first results is at:

                          http://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/210092.phtml

I had no clue when I started so I presume that with my instructions others will be able to do this without mistakes the first time. (Hopefully). No photos of the installed piece (yet).
