you have to fit the whole lot. should of investigated before you bought it lol.

i had (as well as almost every owner here) same problem, i just got some chav pedal ends and mounted them on. I didnt get the screw in ones so i can revert back at any time.

@Mickey - do a search in the forum - I recently fitted a new replacement pedal, had the same issue as you. I did a "how to" guide for fitting it.

I have managed to refit the existing plastic pedal back on the existing lever if anyone is interested in a BTDT. (It basically involves some Epoxy resin and a tie wrap.) Not a bad solution though even if I do say so myself!

                          1. Pick broken pedal off floor and scratch head
                          2. Remove small spring that is left behind with side cutters
                          3. Clean up underside of pedal with meths or thinners and remove any excess material from top (narrow end) with craft knife to ensure larger contact area with tubular part or pedal lever. Mind your fingers!
                          4. Mix up Araldite epoxy resin.
                          5. Cover carpet area of car to avoid dripage.
                          6. Coat rear of pedal and pedal lever with said mixed epoxy
                          7. Slide pedal into position and ensure it is seated correctly by moving it downwards towards carpet. (Not too far)
                          8. Apply a couple of tie wraps to hold it in position whilst epoxy sets.
                          9. Once set remove both tie wraps and apply new (medium size) tie wrap to upper end (narrow) of pedal round the back behind the pedal lever. This part is important as otherwise the pedal with try to tilt like it could before it broke!
                          10. Have a beer!

Disclaimer: I only completed this at the weekend and have not conducted long term ensurance testing yet...

                          Cheers,

Darn, my pedal broke off recently too. I'll have a go with your instructions to bodge it back together and let you know how long it lasts...

Did you say "bodge". That was an engineered solution.
