Instrument Cluster

Hi all,

I got my instrument cluster out, and saw that the glass (plastic see throug) had a few scratches and was broken on several places. Does someone know if this can be bought separately or do you have to buy a complete unit? Further I noticed that my time LCD display is not clear anymore, can this one also separately be displaced?

As far as I know the clear plastic is bonded onto the rear of the cluster housing and must be bought complete. Go to a breakers though as any cluster from an 80 (or 90) should do. Just swap your clocks into the new housing.

I think the clock is part of the rev counter, but if not, then it might available from a breakers also

I hoped there was a way to remove the cover and just buy a new clear one.

P.S. I saw your thread on the aluminum rings on the dials, looks really good. May I ask what you pay for it?

The digital clock can be changed on it's own.

The parts in question seem to be all seperate, You will have to wait for one of the dealer boys to reply to see if they are available though

Plastic cover isn't available seperate Erik.
With regards the digital clock.
There are two versions of instrument panels used in the B3/B4 Audi's. VDO and UN4. (S2's and most 5/6 cylinder Audi's used VDO, UN4's were used in 2.0 8/16v 4 cylinder models)
I got a digital clock from a UN4 cluster to fit in a VDO cluster. So it should work the other way round.
What I'm trying to say is that you should be able to use a digital clock from any other 80/90/Coupe/Avant or cabriolet.
