I have a Coupe with gray leather seats. Are the S2 seats different?

I switched over a set of 1/2 leathers from a '96 2.0E coupe to my '95 ABY S2.
They were the same shape & size, but for some reason I had to swap over the pivot brackets for the back seats. Can't remember why I had to though, sorry!Comment

Hi - Ive got a cq20v currently sporting a full leather interior from an ABY S2 - went in no trouble at all as a straight swap
(not that I ended up doing much of the fitting as usual 
) Couldn't see any obvious differences in the seat design or fittings & most seats are pretty interchangable between B3 & B4's in this respect!

yeah i had the same as you alistair c,i had to swap the rear seat swivel brackets when i fitted s2 black leather in my coupe quattro. also fitted rs2 front recaros these went straight in toComment

Did you gentlemen (and I use that term loosely
) switch for the material or is there a difference in the bolsters and such.
I have full leather in my CQ and I am trying to determine if I should import a set of newer seats with my ABY engine. Would I be getting a better seat in terms of fit (not material)?Dave K.

nope - purely for material reasons:
- 1/2 leather is great (can't stand full leather though!)
- the jaquard cloth was so hard wearing it was starting to go all shiney
