    Thank god for Air Con

The man from the Ministry (MoT), he say yes. Your car fit for da road.

To celebrate I asked the guy how much to sort out the A/C... after a bit of tech wizardry was attached to the car he said £100. Well... how could I say no? It sounded cheap and it turned out to be a right bargin.

It took them (2 to 3 at a time) 1 and 3/4 hours to find, get to and plug up the machine to re-con the air-con. If you total up the £ it works out to be far more than 100 notes... get in!!!

Any way... I can now drive around sweat free!

BUT! What's with all this new computerised MoT documentation???? He gave me a yellow bit of paper that advises me to replace my brake pads. Very good, i think? I will do so in my ownn time. Call me a traditionalist but i did like the old MoT paperwork. It fitted in my doc holder.

Any way... I'm now happy (cause she is), just need some new pads - any suggestions?

Glad to hear of your air-con fix, it makes such a huge difference, I'd never buy a car without working air-con. Sweat-free motoring - comfort at high speed, that's the S2!

I've yet to experience the new MOT system, not due for another 3 months, I'd heard it was a bit of a lengthy experience?

Re: pads - do you have stock discs/ calipers?

Stock everything at the moment. Looking to do a brake upgrade before the end of the year.

The only difference with the old MoT is the paperwork I believe. It does mean that I can pay Gordon Brown on the Inter-global-hyper-mega-net though. Saving a trip down to the post office. So I think that is good?

I will never not have A/C again. In UK you rarely need it but when you do it is bloody good to have.

I never switch my air-con off to be perfectly honest, even when it's not that hot it makes a big difference...

Stock brakes, I'm not convinced that there's that much gain to be had by different pads on the stock discs/ calipers - especially if you're planning a brake upgrade later in the year I would save the money and just get OEs for now - when you upgrade you'll need new pads again then and then I would go for the Ferodo DS2500s (I'm assuming you'll go the tried-and-tested Porsche caliper route?) as in my opinion they're the best mix of pad bite with enhanced braking power.
