    carbon inlays

    Hi,
Guys my other car is a 94 V6 coupe quattro with wood inlays on the doors, the glovecompartment and the gauges and ashtray and the air vent switches. Looks nice. The S2 is a 96 ABY with carbon inlays at the doors and glovecompartment and NO INLAYS around the clima swithches and the gauges and the ashtray. Tell me does it exist or I must be satisfied with the black ashtray or what is possible?

I think this is normal for the S2. I've certainly never seen one with the heater dials and ash tray anything other than black plastic.

You should only have trim on the doors and above the glove box.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.......

Agreed. That's what I have. Carbon on doors and above glovebox only.

You can get self adhesive carbon-look films but I think it will look crap. I can't see it being a good match for the existing carbon and it will probably be a bit overkill too.

I think it looks good as it is.

Bizarrely you can only get the climatronic surround (or heater surround), gauges and ashtray in carbon fibre (or wood for us slipper wearers ) on left hand drive cars.

          Ben,
Are you saying that these carbon inlays do exist, probably on the continent? Than they maybe available from dismantlers or second hand part dealers maybe.

After consulting ETKA it would appear they are only available in wood, not carbon fibre.

I could almost get the factory quality carbon inlays from www.prewoodec.de but they only have them for non clima models. In fact they also have all kind of wood trims etc. Check them out.
