    Will this Steering wheel Fit?

    I want this:

    ebay link

It is from a 2000 A4 Quattro. If it was from an earlier A4 it would at least have the same nut that holds it on but year 2000 steering wheels look as if they have a funny bolt thing holding them on.

Don't know if the indicators would work - but I could live with out the indicators switching off properly.

Also, will the airbag connectors be compatible?

    HELP

If you fit a pre 2000 A4 wheel, your indicators won't cancel. The later ones are held on with a torx / allen bolt. I used one of these on my type 85, I removed the boss of the type 85 and drilled 3 equally spaced holes through the boss and the S4 wheel. I then secured the lot together with 3 M8 bolts and nuts. Worked fine. This time, I am using an S3 wheel on my type 89.

But these have the same spline? and connector for airbag? Is that correct? So, if this wheel is a pre-facelift model it should go on?

I used a '99 S4 wheel, with the bolt rather than nut fitting, but I had to use my original boss, as I didn't fancy cancelling my indicators manually.

I am totally confused Sienna - how do you keep the original boss? i thought it was all one piece withe the wheel? I'm assuming you didn't use the airbag?

After thinking about this am I correct in thinking that you cut out the circular lump of metal around a standard 80/90 spline on a standard wheel(one that fits and cancels our indicatotrs) - then I might have to drill out the spline of the S4 wheel - then bolt the old adapter to the S4 wheel?

Worth a shot - I will be bidding on the wheel - so if anyone else on here is mail me so we don't bid against each other.

A lot of S2s have them fitted, with the correct boss though - the newer cars have different bosses or different indicator notches - I have the sh1tty 4 spoke airbag wheel - fook knows why Audi fitted them - I really, REALLY hate my steering wheel - it doesn't feel sporty at all.

The S2 ones are hard to come by though - most S2s in the scrappy have been front ended - so the airbag would be second hand.

Phil - emailed them this morning - expect it will be expensive though.

Or maybe its just a mirror image of a left hooker!

Has to have the airbag and I like the newer style ones.

                            Cheers

                            Should that 2.3E 10V not be a 2.2E? I thought they only went to 2.3 for the 20Valvers? Probably wrong - I had a1988 2WD 2.2E Coupe - loved it back then.

That car is stationery, left hand drive. Note ignition lock. Doug, I don't know about type 89, but the type 85 wheel CAN have the boss seperated, I should imagine the type 89 should be similar. I used the airbag wheel, with the airbag trigger wires cut off.
