  • Recaro seats for an S2

If anyone isn't on the Yahoo RS2list, Niko on there has A8 recaro seat in his RS2. Picture here:

He says he has 2 sets for sale - might be worth some of you asking - don't know where he lives though. Might also be worth seeing if they are a straight fit.

They are Recaros - not Audi seats, just Audi bases, so will probably be designed to use in 2 doors - like the RS2 Recaro seats can be used in coupes.

If you look closely here, you will see the handles for moving them forward:

Why don' you ask him, how much, and if they are a straight fit - they look awesome.

I like the add on heater in the pssenger footwell ( LHD) that is probably essential in Finland in the winter.

I sat in a A8 sport 4.2 quattro a month or so ago. It had leather sport seats and they were very comfortable and supportive, wouldn't suit a 2 door tho'

                Hi there.

Yes those seats are not very well known due to their rarity. They are so sought after due to the great mix of looks The plastic backs can be painted) and grip, as the shoulder are very well supported. Getting in and out of them is no prob either though one behind must be or the "normal" size

They were build in the early to mid nineties in two different versions. The first one like like my own custom upholstered ones used metal bottom bases
                or

whilst the later type have deeper seatbolsters and some of the metal internal structure was replaced by carbon fiber to make them lighter and more competetive in race situations.

                see these ones for instance

There is no difference between driver or passenger side and they are all tiltable. One needs to buy the recaro consoles to fit them in the required car which retail for about 150-175 squid each.

I have an upholsterer in germany who has made a number of these to customers requirements. he 's pretty good see http://www.locomail.com/niko/mycorra...o/Recaro%20A8/

You'll have guessed by now that they are not cheap.
I have an unused later type stock cloth pair version for £1k ups shipped like these
http://www.locomail.com/niko/mycorradoweb/forsale/recaro/Recaro%20A8/textilea8/ and the above bleu/black ones for £1650 ups shipped.

K enough of the sales talk.

                    It's ment for pre-heating the cabin. A 230V unit.

Many of us also use 230V engine block pre-heaters.

I call consoles subframes. Yes you'd need to get them

Yup in this neck of the woods with 20-30 degree below zero in the hellish winter, most cars have block heaters which are no more high tech than heating elements in the oil sump to warm up the engine usually with a set timer.

I also have a heater in the cabin which blows warm air (1800w) so I don't freeze my you know what off's in the mornings ( and I don't need to dig the car out of the snow as I hear you guys have been doing recently

Its all in a days work up here
