Hub extension for the original steering wheel

Apart from all those small set backs I do like my S2, but I really could use some extra space for my legs. Trouble is I can put my seat further back, but than I have trouble reaching the steering wheel. Also I wish I could lower my seat further down...

But I believe that a hub extension for the original steering wheel could solve half my problem. Is this perhaps ready available?

Always been curious about that myself, i'm 6'3 so it can seem a little cramped in there. If you find any easy way to move the steering back i'd love to know more.

There was mention on the forum years ago about different seat base foams, i think later models sat a bit lower. It might also be possible to trim the foam and lower it a bit, never had a problem with it myself.

Just a warning. I cut the foam out of a Coupe to lower myself (also added a Momo wheel with a 1" extender). Problem is now the lumbar adjustment smacks me in the back and the seat is very uncomfortable.

Now I'm thinking about swapping in some seats from a new 911 (I have no idea how much work this will be, I've only researched enough to know they bolt straight down into the floor)

          Keep us posted.

But you will need long fingers if you put a spacer under it!

Most room saving mods would be a deepdish WRC style steering wheels with some Racing style seats. But I doupt this would look good...

Making the S2 a 2 seater (like 350Z or Mini Cooper Works GP) would be most logical...

Remember that moving the wheel back on a fixed angle column will also increase the height of the steering wheel slightly. I don't envy the tall owners, I'm only 5'8" and I find that it fits me rather nicely!

As well as Kitty I have a CQ with no sunroof at home, that increases internal headroom a little.
