Manual window conversion?

Is it do-able? I've gone through two window motors in 1 year, and I don't open my window all that often. This is really f*ckin' pissing me off. Is there any other Audi or VW with a manual roll up that would fit?

yes you can
my avant audi 80 was 4 x manual windows
i converted it to 4 x electric windows

frame same ......glass same....... just put manual winder mech up......secure wiring
drill hole for winder handle
should be fine



is window mechanism stiff/window snagging????
to damage motors???

Thanks for the info!

My car is a 1990 CQ, and the window sorta' tries to roll down, but doesn't even make a noise when I click 'up' on the switch. I think the motor is maybe bad or the cable pinched through the plastic guide on the motor. Thats what happened last time.

I have a manual window mechanism from a S2 coupe, only got the right side though (passenger side from an LHD car that is )

Awesome! Did it bolt right in (minus, of coarse the hole for the crank)?

This is the only S2 (RS2/RSR) I've seen with manual winders.

Sorry man, didn't mean to doubt you. Are there any salvage/breaker yards in the Netherlands or the rest of Europe that has lots, or primarily, of Audi's in them?


'Audibits' on ebay said manual windows weren't even made for s2's/CQ, so evidently HE doesn't know anything
