  • 1991 S2 3B - Seating options and sliding backwards option.

    Hi

So I bought a 91' S2 recently, I'm a tall and quite chubby man to be honest. Struggling a bit with the seation position.
Thought I had went crazy when I didn't find any sliding back-forth mechanism. Didn't any of the seats come with that? Only the tilting ?
Had some s4 and s6 before and I could swear that those seats did have that.

Sent a mail to Corbeau regarding their frames and seats but is there any other options to get an original look and the possibility to move the seat backwards..?
The widht isnt that much of a problem but my legs are cramped trying to brake and gas ( im 1.90m++).

Suggestions? Tried to search and found some posts but didn't really give me an answer.

    Thanks in advance

    - Lars

Those look like the same seats as the originals I have and they adjust fine front <-> backward.
There should be a lever which lets you adjust the position (can't remember which side at the moment).

Maybe stick your head in first to orient yourself with where to pull etc.

Yeah we Checked everywhere last night didnt seem to find anything. Only the lever for tilting and the rotary for raising or lower backrest.. No slide back and forth. Not sure where it could be. Will check up later and see but didnt find anything obvious when we checked.

You must be joking. There are handles in the front bottom part of a seat for height adjustment and for releasing the block to slide forward-and-back.

May you seats be modified some way? Some levers missing? Electrical seats with no side regulators?

We can predict, no need for detailed photos of seat bottoms : )

Agreed, they sound modified to me.

Speaking as someone who has had his seats out this week, the only thing I can think is that someone has removed the handle/lever, moves the locking pin and allows the seat to slide, so they must have removed the handle and left the locking pin and spring, which should mean by getting down on your knees and sticking your head in there, you should be able to pry the lever out and move the seat back. Either that or they removed the entire handle and stuck a bolt through.....but who would do that? (assume scratches head emoji here if they were working)

Post a pic from the from the pedals looking back at the seat or take a seat out (takes about 3 mins), by....
                  1. Removing the rail cover on the centre tunnel
                  2. Remove the rail/sill cover on the door side
                  3. Remove the short hex bold/nyloc nut on the front end of the central rail
                  4. Releasing what ever has been stuck in where the handle should be front centre rail
                  5. Sliding rear legs back and out of the side rails

Then hit ebay for a nasty brown cloth set of seats to remove the levers from....Good luck

                  Cheers n (Beers emoji here)

P.S. what has happened to the emojis?

There must be handles like here:

I would say such handles are very easy to find as they are the same as ones on simple audi 80. But "easy" could be true only for Russia/Eastern Europe as all the old audi 80's are dying there, and in Norway audi 80 is pretty rare.

BTW you still can move the seat back "for a long time" with missing handle. If you have a look at the very bottom under the seat, It will be clear what to do.

Adjusted the seat with some locking pin inro several holes under the frame. Levers and everything is missing. At least now its possible to drive the car without pain in my legs..

Struggling a bit with uploading pictures
