    Be seated...

    Quite a while I was thinking of this:
    my son had a Sparco race seat for spare, if I manage to get a proper console, I can use in my S2.
    So, this morning I got a <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=Audi&v=55">Audi</a> 80 height adjustable drivers seat.
    I just needed the base part, cleaned from all the mechanism.
    Then I welded a square tube drilled 4 holes and fixed the seat.
    Now I'm able to swap seats in a couple of minutes.
    A 4 point matching harness has already been ordered.

    interesting way of doing it. Is this a track day mod for you? does the seat still move forward to get into the back. Not fold over but slide forward instead?

      For track days: perhaps in the future.
      In fact, the S2 is my wifes daily driver and she isn't that fond of bucket seats
      So, I needed a "quick exchange" solution: in less than 3 minutes I can swap from normal to bucket and vice versa. During the week: normal seat, in the weekend: bucket.
      Extra advantages (compared with normal console):
      * the sitting position is as low as it can get: seat bottom just above the central fixation, some 5cm? (to be checked) lower as standard in lowest position.
      * slides smoothly back and forwards
      * cheaper and better quality
      Sliding is not mentioned to give acces to the rear seats, but in far forward position yuo can crawl to the back seat.
      The harness I'm gonna use will also be quick release: partly fixed to the seat frame.
