    Passenger footwell water leak

I've already done a search but cannot find the information I need.

I have a leak into the passenger footwell which only occurs in heavy rain. Took the glovebox out and I think I have traced it up to the bottom of the windscreen pillar. This leads me to believe it is the front left sunroof drain. I still need to double check the pollen filter route although the filter was bone dry last time I checked, post rainfall, and I don't believe it would have dried that quickly.
    My questions are
Has anyone any other suggestions for the source of the leak given that it appears to be more towards the back of the pillar than the screen?
How do I gain access to the sunroof drains. I tried removing the pillar trim but didn't want to force it without knowing how it is held on?

Apologies if I am asking for information which is on another thread but I did try a search.

    Thanks

    Alistair

Now I've traced the source of my electrical problems, decided I would concentrate on the passenger footwell leak next. I tried pouring water down the front left sunroof drain, it came out by the door hinge as expected and there was no leak.
Took the trim off the windscreen pillar, the water started to drip from the roof lining where it was joined to the pillar trim. Pulled the roof lining down a bit, ran a hose on the roof, the water poured into the car. It is definitely a sunroof leak, not the door seal. I can see the water coming along the roof lining from the sunroof direction but I haven't pulled the lining away enough to see the exact source, don't particularly want to wreck the roof lining.
I don't know if it's the volume of water getting past the sunroof seal, or if it's something to do with the framework seal.
Any suggestions gratefully received, such as, how to ease the roof lining away. How are the sunvisors attached, as this may allow the lining away a bit more. Are there more than two drain holes, if so, where are the others?
I'll try and post some photos tomorrow, but any help on the above may allow me to get a bit further tonight.

      Thanks

      Alistair

Looks like I may have found the source of my leak. Refering to the link below (I think it's a link, if not can someone give instructions on adding a link), I took the sunroof lining panel off and put a hose on the roof. Water started pouring in. Had a hunt round and for some unknown reason, shone a torch back into the roof cavity. About a foot back I could see something which turned out to be the drip tray.
It looks like it had become detached from the arms connecting it to the sunroof. Drove to work this morning and had some water leak in but I think it was just what was left in the roof lining.
My question is, how are the arms held into the drip tray? I have pushed them on but they don't seem overly secure. Are they pinned in some way? Also, on the album picture in the attached thread, what is #21? It looks like some kind of clip. Would someone please tell me what it's called and what it does.
BTW, excellent write up by David.

        Thanks

        Alistair
