The seats in the picture are actually escort rs turbo recaro's early type 89 ones, the type 90 came with a different trim.
Series one turbo's also had them along with some capri's and I think the rs1600i fiesta rs1800 had them as well. The cossie's all came with them so did some sporty rovers and vauxhalls if you can call them that.
I had some fitted in my coupe quattro by modifying the bases will upload some pictures in a mo.
Had both front seats re-trimmed, plus rears and the gear gaitor for £210 ish IIRC. Good work as well as I sold them on ebay for more than that when I sold the car on and put the original leather back in. Its very easy to get a set of recaro's into a audi as long as you don't mind a couple of hours easy work.
Ok yeah going by that picture they have been put in there by the owner (or I think was on the options list) along with the bonnet. Nice seats tho, I loved my recaro's especially trimmed in alacantra in the centers lovely to sit on.
I only know about fords as i've had a few in between having audi's.
Never heard of them, have you got a picture by any chance?
I guess that they are maybe more like reclining bucket seast perhaps than usual road seats (you can run them with harnesses). They are extremely comfy though and hold you really well. They have bigger lower and side bolsters than the RS Turbo ones. I had them in my Pug for a while. The good thing about these seats is that they have been made for many years so it's quite possible to find second hand ones at cheap prices. I bought both of mine in a 6 month period via ebay. I had to get one retrimmed but I still ended up selling the pair for more than my total outlay. A mate has an E36 M3 Schnitzer with full leather interior and it has these seast fitted as standard.
You can of course go to the RECARO website and buy them new (incidentally, if you have a browse through their site you will see that the S3/S4/RS4's are standard Recaro models and not specially designed for the cars) at a huge price!
For some reason my pc chose this exact moment to not let me see the pictures, I will check them out tommorow got a good idea what you mean by them. For cheap recaro's you still can't beat the ford ones as I normally pick up just front seats to be re-trimmed (most are in v good condition anyways) for around the £40-50 mark off flea-bay if you don't mind travelling.
The Rover ones (820 Vitesse I think) are a good, if rare find. Half if not full leather and generally in better knick than Ford ones (due to the type of people who buy Rovers...).
Mk1 Astra GTE's also came with lovely Recaros - no doubt trashed by now though.
RS1600is don't have recaros
They have something very similar but not the same.
Mine have black leather outers and original inners like the RS2, but, mine were done before the RS2 was released.
Kingdoms are run by Kings, Dictatorships are run by Dictators.
England must be a Country. :mischeif:

The Mk3 rs1600i has fishnet recaro's which are like hen's teeth.
when you say your seats have black leather outers and original inners are you talking about in your audi or ford?

Yep and the original Calalier SRI used to have the same recaros as the astra GTE and mantas too
