    Harnesses

Has anyone fitted harnesses to their S2? I'm thinking about it for track days using the rear seatbelt bolt holes but not too sure whether I want to drill 4 holes in the floor and carpet to fit the front belts in place. Any other ideas BTDTs?

Next question, are there any other manufacturers other than Recaro and Corbeau who make subframes to fit the s2?

One thing I will say, strictly speaking, you shouldn't mount the shoulder straps of a race harness much lower than 4" (100mm) below the shoulder level of the driver, to prevent spinal compression if subjected to a heavy loading.

Mostly, harnesses are mounted to a crossbar in a cage or to a seatback bulkhead in a tub or safety cell.

I know a lot of people mount to the floor a long distance behind the driver but it's not really the right way to do it.

Hmmmm. I was aware of that from fitting instructions from a friend's car. Do seats with the harness guides (such as Recaro Speeds ) not provide some support for the harnesses / compression? A rear cross brace isn't a possibility at present, unless anyone does a bolt-in item and then you're putting your trust in the shear loading of a few 8-10mm bolts... not ideal.

            Indeed they do linky1 linky2

There are always a few pairs of Corbeau Forza fixed buckets on Ebay fo 5/8th of FA, they're basic but supportive, a friend has them in his Scirocco track car. Other Corbeau seats, like the speed replicas, look a little cheaper and I'd prefer some secondhand Recaros for similar money.

Speeds from a 'teg' type R or Mitsubishi evo? Or some less race-style ones?
