    Trip computer loom.....

    Woop! won some s2 clocks on ebay earlier.... i have a control stalk and loom.. but the connectors seem to have been cut off the loom where it ends up uder the dash by the diagnostic port..... there are 3 wires ending up there,

    * yellow
    * grey with yellow stripe
    * white with grey stripe

    Am i correct in thinking the yellow connects to the yellow connector under the dash. and the other two are unused?

    cheers

      Colours don’t match

      Yellow is the ecu reading for fuel rate. I think it’s actually the maf signal.

        Weird!

        I've got the right control and computer plugs, just the wires coming off for the ECU are different

        Heres my loom

        but i have a single yellow to a black plug, then a white and grey coming off it

          Ahh ok i just read my post again, the red plug isnt used only the small yellow one. Find the other end of the yellow under the dash (i had a connector to match my loom) and see does that work.

          Mark.

            I'll give it a bash when my clocks turn up - hoep it does, otherwise i'll have to find another bloody loom

            Cheers for your help again Mark

            Just musing, but you mentioned in your intsall thread the URS4 has boost readout on the Trip - it that potentially what the red connector is for i wonder?

                got it all hooked up - getting no feed from the ECU for fuel i don't think.... its showing last recorded mpg (as expected) but no change with revs etc... can't move the car as its up on axle stands, but the manual suggests it should show a really high figure if revved from stationary

                time for a proper loom me thinks

                  You have to drive 30m before it will register an mpg, all it says in the manual is it 'may' show a very high reading when depressing the accelerator while stationary. I would wait until you can drive the car before you decide to replace the loom.

                    Yep dont work when stationary. It usually gives the last readout, so sometimes when you stop it will claim 200mpg!

                        I've just seperated the trip computer loom from a spare rs2 loom I had sitting around, anyone know where the yellow wire would connect to on a 10v saloon, i've had a look at the plug mentioned above and the two other colour wires are there but on the other side the only wire which is spare is a green/brown iirc.

                              Just checked the logbook which handily turned up this morning its a KV.

                              @nuvo - how do I find pin 30? or is it marked on the plugs? (I can check this on the spare rs2 loom)
