What is this switch on the climate control (pic inside)

Browsing around the forums I came across a couple of pics with the older climate control and saw this pic...

What is the switch and little diagram on the bottom left part of the climate control surround? It looks like a picture of the car with the sunroof open. What does it do and does anyone have a closer up picture of it?

    Thank you in advance.

Its the 'recirc' button. Pretty common across many if not all VAG aircon... It controls a flap that determines whether the system breathes in all fresh air or recirculates it from the cabin.

This switch does not exist on the US cars. Which is kinda disappointing since I generally prefer fresh air, but don't have the option to select that anywhere. I'm relatively certain that the climate control is automatically selecting fresh or recirc to maximize the temperature control (ie: it's closing it when trying to heat up the cabin faster, etc.).

I'd really like to have that switch though to add back a bit of control.
