I've got my centre console out at the moment and I can't sus out how to change the bulbs. I guess the bulb is in the black plastic part with 2 wires going to it.. that appears to twist and move a bit but I don't want to go and break it.
Any pointers?

Yep, the black holder just twists and then pulls out (gently with pliers if it's a bit stiff). Then the bulb can be pulled out of it's holder (1.2W capless bulb).
I thought the Aux gauges used the orance bulbs? (1.1w?)
Mine didn't (I changed the oil press gauge bulb the other week), they were all 1.2W in black holders. They might have changed at some point though I suppose?
You need to twist the bulb holders 90 degrease and then they will pop out just like peterr said. Might be worth replacing them with red LEDs if you fancy something a little brighter. I have seen this in a couple of cars and it looks better imo.
Can all be done, you just have to replace all the lights with leds. Its not that cheap as they are almost £2 each iirc.
You have to buy the right ones too. Some are the "slim wedge" type that the Aux gauges use and some are the "twist lock" type that the rear of the dash uses.
Once you get your head round it its not that hard a job. But remember LEDs will only power on if + / - is the right way round so its worth double checking that they all light up before putting it all back together..
Just speaking out of experience here
