Guide to changing to 3 spoke airbag steering wheel

If your CQ are '90/'91 it may not be a straight swap - if it has the older 4 spoke airbag wheel to start with you may have to swap cowls and muck around with the indicator mechanism.

Yeah goin on the 91 CQ, what is the cowl,what about the wires

By 'cowl' (cowling?) I mean the plastic cover behind the steering wheel that the indicator stalks come out of.
The thread link below has pictures of the later covers (which make the 3 spoke airbag wheel a straight swap) and the earlier one which would need to e changed.

With an earlier original wheel you may also need to alter the mechanism which cancels the indicator to make it work.. See the links earlier in this thread. (post #13)
I don't think there would be any issues with the wiring.
