    Carbon fiber gauge pods

Got hold of a 11" x 8" sheet of real carbon fiber off Ebay for approx 5 quid.

The boost gauge pod consists of a pod made from styrofoam, with a carbon front panel, cut to perfectly fit the center vent. Looks even better in real life, and matches the RS2 interior perfectly. Also made a pod for the wideband display that sits where the ashtray used to be.

I like the look of the ash tray bit, that looks quite smart, what did you use to cut it? saw or scored it with a knife?

The sheet was thin enough to be cut with scissors, then used a Stanley knife and sandpaper for the fine tuning. Both pods look even better in real life. Truely looks like Porsche put them there back in the day

"Matches" as in has the fine blue thread in it?

Which one did you buy? (The website has several options)

The reason I am asking is your solution would be a whole lot easier than my DIY procedure:

Why is your voltage reading ~15V? What sort of alternator have you got?

Stock RS2 alternator with 14v regulator boosted to approx 15.2v by using two diodes. Nice for cold climates, and provides more juice for fuel pump, headlights, etc. Downside is shorter bulb life and potential for having to add water to the battery more often.

No, missing the blue thread, so not a 100% match, but still a very good match. Finding carbon sheets with the exact same amount of blue sheen is difficult. Standard black is a better match than standard blue, since it is too blue.
I bought the standard black 8x11 sheet.
