CG-Lock - anyone ever used one?

Seen these a few times in Demon Tweeks etc - anyone ever used one and confirm if they make a useful difference to a normal seatbelt as they look a good idea for infrequent track days etc...

With a decent seat you don't need one David. Invest in a proper seat and it transforms the S2 and puts your derrier in tune with the chassis, that's also the biggest downside as the S2 chassis isn't the best

I have one on loan from a work colleague at the minute. He bought a 944 S2 that had a pair in it so I took one put to try it. They do make a surprising difference on my RS2 recaros. When it's pulled tight you get held a lot tighter in the seat and in turn have more control as your not sliding around using the pedals and stertring wheel to support yourself. One thing to note is that they are pretty big and you can easily hit the door window with it when you take your belt off. The one I am using is an original version though and I think they have revised the design somewhat.

As Andy says it's not the same as a proper race seat and to go one further it would be even better to have race seats and harnesses. I'm happy with it so far but haven't been out on track with it so can't give any feedback on that yet. At the end of the day it is a lot cheaper than a race seat (especially when you nick it out of a colleagues car ) and from my experience on the road I'd definately say they are worth a go.

Ever so slippery. I did have a pair of brand new B5 RS4 recaros with the hitec cloth (rubber coated aluminium inlays). They were great but it would have took too much hacking to get them to fit the S2 floor pan so I sold them. I've been looking out for some of the cloth to get my RS2 seats retrimmed.

I was sent one for review by Graham at CG lock, ended up giving it away, tbh i didnt like it and i know another chap (who helped with testing on the Zonda) didnt like it either. There again this was in figure hugging 911 seats, would no doubt help with the slip/slide S2 seats tho..

Hi I have had one in my 20v coupe for the last 8 months and I love it.

First reason is it helps me keep a nice driving posture especially on longer journeys. I have some quite bad back problems (been operated on but still get bad pain) and this really does help.

Come to the twisty stuff and tighten it up a litltle more and it really helps plant bum in the seat and I feel so much more in control of the vehicle. No bracing myself on the door on hard cornering.

I have a leather interior so it was pretty slidey in there before.

I expected it to cause damage to the plastic part of the seatbelt clip it attatches to but it was fine the last time I looked.

The medical advantage of these for me is the main thing, but I also love it on the twistys (though that is partky medical too as its less strain on my back if im planted in the seat like that)
