    B4 coupe front windows

Hi, hello to everyone. My first post and im afraid its a plea for help !! Ive got a B4 coupe and my drivers window fell into the bottom of the door today On inspection the cable part of the regulator has snapped !! Can i buy the cable seperately to fix the problem ?? I have heard the complete regulator with components is quite expensive (approx £370). Also been told JUST fitting the cable may not solve prob due to to some plastic bits that break off ?? Around £50 for just the cable ? .............................. All help greatly appreciated........................Chris.....locat ed England
For what this cost me so far I could have bought an S2

    Whereabouts are you located Chris?

I have a drivers window for sale i think....

    Will have to check.

Will be a damn sight easier to replace the whole unit and cheaper than the 50 quid you've been quoted.

hi there - it is far easier to try and get hold of a second hand window mechanism (complete with window, motor, regulator, and cables) which can then slot in with about half an hours effort (just done it myself, and if I can do it, anyone can).

try the usual ebay route plus fourcircle and spink on here have regularly got them available - should be less than £50.

in the short-term just wedge the window up with some wood or such like and wait for a decent second hand mechanism to become available.
