Glove Box

I noticed on the way home in the S2 today that the light in the glove box is permenantly on.

It seems that the blove box doesn't push against the switch enough to turn the light off.

hass anyone ever experienced something similiar?

u just need to move the switch a little. its only held in by a spring clip. If you shift it forward a bit it should work fine then.

Does anyone else have problems closing their glove box? I have to slam mine every time or it just won't close.
Its not the end of the world, but its another of those little niggles that bugs me silly!

yup, i got the same problem, not too bothered by it.

you might be able to oil the latch a little and tweak the mounts to solve that one.

Yep, my S2 glovebox is a real POS compared with the glovebox in my dad's A6. Mine rattles like hell, needs excessive force to close and it's so small (probably due to the aircon) that it will just barely fit a few CD's.

Ditto, my glove box is pathetic, but i fixed the poor closing by adjusting the slammer stop bar so it fit a bit better. and the switch on mine kept on popping out of the clip, till i sussed that there is a right and wrong way of fitting it.

My glovebox light works OK but I can't really use the glovebox due to the fooking great hole at the back of the door where the dealer-fit aircon was fitted Can't belive Audi UK actually endorsed that. Team bodge springs to mind. Makes it easy to get to the ECU though

yeah i had a spate of bulb problems a year or so ago, almost went mad!!! Thankfully it seems to have stayed in but i've probably just jinxed that

Mine does need a good slam to shut and has an annoying little rattle that i havent managed to locate the cause of yet.

Here's how Audi butchered my glovebox for the dealer fit aircon. Picture quality isn't good due to the sunlight.

OMG, i cant believe they would do that, i had aircon fitted to mine which was a dealer fit but hadnt cut the glove box.

Least your aircon works, i gave up and ripped mine out
