  • Is this enough headroom?

With the help of my assistant, today we tried some modified seat bases with escort recaro's on top. They will give as much headroom as possible, alex is 6 foot+ and has enough and tbh its not too bad, only thing about these seats is to get them this low the height adjustment was removed unlike the first set I had made. I'm getting another set re-done to include the height adjustment as thats what I asked for on the first set.

I'll add in the pictures so you can decide.

You have a lot more headroom than I do with the Corbeau's. Going to have to get the frames chopped and welded... fat lot of point in buying the right frames that are supposed to it then!!

I'm 6.3 (well I was last time I checked around 6 yrs ago) and unless i've shrunk I had loads of headroom still.

Yeah should be able to no probs, I gotta finish putting all the trim etc back on them as I just wanted to see if they was usable because the guy who did them changed the design to what I originally asked and I sat in them and they did not seem too bad.

What I will do is get them all back together etc and post up some better pictures. i'm also getting another set of bases done up asap how I originally asked for them done

Cool, be good to try them side by side and see if its ok with the fixed position or if the height adjust is needed when not wearing a helmet.....looking good

Well if I can get them sorted at the weekend and arrange with alex when he's coming down to help with another project I have on the go then i'll try get them fitted in his car for a test drive and bring them down to show you.

If you like them and can live with them go for them, if not i'll hassle the guy to hurry up for the other set.

Looks good, better even than my Recaro. I have about 1" of headroom with the Speed and it's just about OK with a helmet if I push myself into the seat, I'm a gnat's chuff short of 6'. Doug had a little measure with his Pole Positions and he's got about 1.5" without a sunroof so I hope they'll be about the same.

My Mum drove the car the other day and couldn't see over the steering wheel as she's 5'8ish. I laughed and prayed... all at the same time!
