      Update;
      Had to do this today as I couldn't see much yesterday through the screen fog.
      What a sod! pita to do, no room to get in, managed it and now all is working as it should!
      I got a new motor from TPS, as I said on back order but came after a week.

      Thanks for all the help!

        As you say a real pain to do but pleased you've got it back working and you're one of a unique few with climate control in our cars

          Sorry for bringing up an old thead, but I seem to have the same V71 problem in my RS2, when I contact audi I get a confusing answer. There seem to be 4 motors that address the same V71 problem. partnumbers are 8a1 820 511, 8a1 820 511 a,b and c.
          Can any of you out there please help?... Witch partnumber and or location.

          Thanks

            From my reading of ETKA:

            V68 Temperature flap motor 8A1 820 511A

            V70 Central flap motor 8A1 820 511

            V71 Positioning motor air flow (that's the one in the inlet duct under the pollen filter, not fitted on my car and certainly one you can do without) 8A1 820 511C

            V85 Footwell/defroster flap motor 8A1 820 511B

            The insides of the motor units are all the same, it's the levers on the outside that make them different.

              Inside view of the flap motor unit. This one is from an A4 hence the different part number.

                Thanks. I thought the one under the pollen filter where the recirculation motor

                There is a temp sensor and the motor for closing the recerulation flap. Is there another motor in that particular area?

                And one last question. Do I understand you correctly that i can use any of those motors, as long as I use the arms fitted on the specific motor that I want to change?
