Dashboard problems????

Hi guys.
Am trying to finish the interior today, have to change some bulbs in the dashbord and have some Q´s :

Ambient temperature has no light? how can i fix this?
Fuel gauge has only light in the top of gauge? Cant find the right bulb for this?

Found a wire with a socket in the end looks like a wire for a bulb, and it´s got red band on the wires? anybody knows what this is for?

Looks like the airbag IS connected?
Is it a bulb for the airbag or somat?

it is the bulb that shows when your airbag is not working properly. if it is removed, means that someona has removed it because it was on, so something was not ok with the aribag, maybe it has been blown.

But where is it sopposed to be then?

in the main cluster of course. near the handbrake light. take a look behind the cluster, look trough it pointing it towards some light, you will see a red airbag sign.

No wait it's defenetely NOT the airbag light!
Airbag control light it's part of the mainboard so it's not connected to a loose wire.
That bulb holder it's ment for the green light that shows you have lights on just for the italian market.
try to put a bulb on it or with a tester you'll see it goes on when you you switch on lightson the first position (turns off on second position with headlights on)
You can should see the free "hole" on the main lights group underneath the BC if you look trough with a light behind you'll see the green sign with the lamp.

On my RS2 this wire is the Airbag light, that switches on when you turn the ignition, and disappears in a few seconds.

You are wrong. Check again. It is not wrapped in red for no reason.

ok i can be wrong but.....

I dismount an RS2 while ago and the airbag light was on the mainboard
Fitted a tempomat on another RS2 and airbag light was on the mainboard
My RS2 the same...
My Cabrio (1997) same thing...
Another Cabrio (1996) same thing
And all of them where from italian market with the loose wire for that lights on lamp

But well if Skaala says that on his RS2 it's the Airbag light..... it can be i'm mistaking.... if it is then sorry....

The bulb needs to be de-soldered and either a new bulb soldered back in, or an LED instead.
Because you are in a different country, I don't know of where you'll get the bulb or LED, but this post here has an explanation and pictures on replacing the illumination >>> here as a part of the subject.

I reckon by seeing the S2 of AUDIS2avant it's a pre1995 and Skaala RS2 it's also a 1994 one that something had been change between 1994 and 1995 models.
Infact the glove box and the compartment underneath the steering wheel (i think door cards also) are different from mine.
Sorry that i give such a "sure" info..... my fault!

Skaala did you change your steering wheel?
