Centre cosul removal to access bottom of gear lever

Cant work out how you remove the trim that sits above the gauges that is keeping the whole consul from sliding out?

What I am aiming to get to is the base of the gear stick to access the ball and joint to refit new cup as 1st and reverse wont select.

help please as can invisage snapped plastic bits soon

    Thanks

you need to slide the heater control dials off to access the the 2 small scews that allow the lttle bit of trim above the aux gauges to be removed. I put a bit of tape over the jaws of some long nose pliars and pull the knobs off (oooer matron....)

pull the knobs off.....ahem. Then pull the panel forward once youve removed the screws, youll then see the two little grub screws that hold the trim panel on for the aux gauges. Remove these then bobs your uncle fannyies you aunties dog.

You have to pull out the knobs only with the manual A/C

If you have the automatic control panels with buttons.....
You must get a screwdriver and insert it in the middle of one of the shorter vertical side then use the screwdriver to levering the panel out.
It will pop out it's inserted only with pressure clips.
Then you'll find the two screws that are holding the gauges console in.
