20v cq carpet in an aby

Just out of interest is this possible, i've had a few people asking about a carpet now and from what I know the 20v carpet can be fitted as long as its not to a 3b.

    Anyone ever btdt.

I have heard that the carpet from a 90 will swap into a cq and vice versa. Ill be performing my own test in the next couple months...

@Acidburn - is the underfelt dry and in-tact on that CQ you are breaking?

I don't need the carpet - just the underfelt after mine went spongiform big time.

The quick look I had on the family album confirmed that underfelt is common across B3 and B4 - ahh but not Cabrio. But I'm not sure about the carpet being common.

I'm somewhat hopeful of getting some underfelt from a dry 80 or Coupe somewhere.

PS - If you haven't cut out the underfelt yet - please DONT until we've had a chat - I will need yours cut in a way that works with the dry remains of mine - I am NOT taking out the dash.

I need to get over to the mainland in April somehow, so fingers X'd.

I should be able to get the underfelt out of either of two fwd type 89's but have not got a quattro atm to break. Might have one by the time that you come over.

What year are those Typ89s - I can check the parts system if the underfelt is common - though it may be perfect anyway cos of where I need to cut round the tunnel which is the only area I might expect to be different.

Confirmed - Underfelt for rear/centre section is common to B3 and B4 - saloon, coupe, avant - FWD or quattro - from 1987 to 1996 - brilliant.

Same goes for the front underfelt going by part x-refs - doesn't mean its perfect for all model years though.

Carpet looks to be fairly generic too - would need more time to check properly. FWD Audi 80 seems to be odd one out of this list.

Ok i'll check the car tommorow see if I can grab all the underfelt out of it when the seats/carpet are removed what year/suffix is your car paul i.e. N reg etc, probably best if I get the felt from the v6 as its the newer out the two car's.

Yeah - mines a 94 so would be better if you grab it from the later car. Cheers... Paul
