Leather & color quality of our cars...

What is your opinion of the quality & color of the leather on your seats? I know that the leather is sprayed on, not vat-dyed like Benz & Porsche. The spray on color tends to make the leather brittle & causes it too crack when the leather gets old. And the color is not as long lasting as the other German makes.
How many of you have had your seats re-dyed or re-covered?

My seats have endure 165k and are still in great condition, they are of the slatted type, not sure if that makes a difference.

it all depends on the quality of the leather used in the first place as to how it lasts

The colour coating also depends on the quality of colour used and how its finished

i used a similar kt on my interior in the cab. Youll be amazed at the dfference just a deep thorough clean wll do to get rid. The majority of the little cracks arent in the leather itself but the colourant and sealent/waxes etc that are used on top.
Heres mine...front seats were very dark navy blue and the rest was ecru. Now redyed in vw beige as used in the corrado vr6 storms

I also used the leather filler on some of the deeper cracks and to rebuld a 50p sized tear on the rear panel of the drivers seat

Been looking at companies to get my leather reacaro's cleaned up as well, the drivers seat bolster is pretty bad.

Anyone have anyone to recommend?

Go to http://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk they can do it for you or you can buy the kit and do t yoursel. They do a colour match service for an extra fiver. Stck some pics up
