Replacement Seat options

The leather seats with the "bars" appeared in all ABY cars as far as I know. Mine is a very early ABY and has the same leather as you Mr Le S2.

On fleaBay, went to pick them up in Lincoln, they were coming out of a V6 coupe that was going to the scrappage scheme. I got the front and back seats and leather door cards and all the looms for a very reasonable price Less than the light grey ones that I was also looking at that were on at the same time from a dismantlers.

You have exactly the same seats etc as my 95 ABY coupe ( 96 model year ). AFAIK all the later models with leather have that style with the horizontal 'bars' on the seat faces. I've no idea when the 'later' models first appeared though - you might have one of the earliest later models. I am sure someone more knowledgeable will know.
I would have thought that it would have been done the same in the Avant but could be wrong.

I have a question about seats...

In my 1993 (1994 model) ABY S2 coupe I have cream leather seats BUT I have been reading lots of threads about other peeps cars and I have not found any that look the same....

I know they were fitted at the factory but were there different options on the types of seats, or did the shape and style change later in the production?

I just put a set of these in full black leather into mine, best change to the car yet.

Got a slightly better picture of new seat having picked it up. Seems very comfortable sitting in it on floor of my spare room

Those PP look lush!! Yeah Rust to my knowledge they are on Recaro subframes

Wih the 80 subframes obsolete you can modify mk.3 Golf ones to fit, they fit the runners fine but they don't quite point in the right direction, as Fitzy found out (sorry Paul). Jamo's Speeds (I assume) have the correct bases so can accept any Recaro standard mounting hole seats.

I find recaro frustrating to deal with - and they discontinue some lines for no reason.

The RS2 seats are better then the newer b5 and b7 recaros.

I was going to get a PP then Recaro UK put the price up by nearly £100! Nice seats although I've never sat in them, certainly on the wish list for a fast road / track car and come highly recommended by Doug and a few others.
