    LCD screen in Dashboard

Hi, I am new on this forum and from the Netherlands.
I have made my navigation screen into my dashboard. Almost finished!

Only my ventilation is less now, but with the summer almost over it shouldn't be a problem. I will notice the difference next summer.

Hmmmmm. My screen is like a standard headunit which comes out, but when off hides away in the dash.

Much better from a security point of view and its still a 7" TFT widescreen.

    (Its the Kenwood KVT-M700)

very nice - quite similar to another I've seen in an A4:

Slow to load on a dial-up but well worth it!

Oh and before anyone asks where's the stereo - its an in car pc with MP3, Radio, Sat nav etc all controlled by touchscreen. Nice

If yours is anythink like - it should look good when finished - and with a better viewing height position than pop out screens !
Was planning to do that myself with a 6" widescreen so I could keep the switches..... what have you done with yours????

I think that thieves will know also how a Kenwood KVT-M700 looks like when it's closed, so I hope that he thinks it is to much work to get all out. My car doesn't sleep outside.

My buttons are replaced under the steering wheel.

Guys, the topic is 7 years old now... External pictures, things can change in 7 years.

But I don't think I would place the buttons on that spot again. A lot of cable is needed, in different dimensions, and when driving, it's difficult to operate these buttons or to see what's on or not.

I've got the pics on my home PC I think. I'll try to upload them later!

It was a nice job too!

Still lurking just beneath the surface.
Have to come up for air every 2 or 3 years.

Still waiting for the price (and mileage!) of nice avants to come down a bit. Prices seem the same as they were 5 years ago...... !

Think they are getting about the lowest possible, you can get a near mint one for 3k now if you know where to look/who to ask.
