Removal of cigarette lighter

Has anyone ever tried removing the lighter from the centre console. I can't see what is holding it in. Any ideas?

Hi Dean, i can get you the answer tommorow, old , tired & dodgy fag lighter wiring, plus the addition of a poor alarm installer was nearly the end of my car the other month.thanks ian

Done it!

OK - phoned up the local Audi dealership in Camberley and they were very helpful. The inner metal sleeve needs to be pushed throught the outer illumination sleeve by pressing the lugs on the illumination sleeve. It is a little tricky and I ended up squeezing the inner metal sleeve a little.
