As the title says, can a RS2 gear knob still be purchased new or are they NLA?

The RS2 gearknob and gaitor doesn't currently have an NLA flag on it in the UK. Part number is 8A0 711 118 A. Lead time based on them being available would be around 7-10 days.
Obviously an order would need to be placed to see whether it is NLA from factory which it could well be if VAGParts couldn't get them.
Even then it might be worth an enquiry to http://www.vw-classicparts.de. They will have stock or will check european dealer stocks to locate one if possible.

I have now had confirmation from the factory that the RS2 gearknob is still showing as fully available in Germany so it should be possible to get one in the UK in about 7-10 days.

Can anyone confirm that this is a RS2 gear knob? (it is 5 speed - on a S2 3B)
Pics:

I know it is a disaster,but that's why I'm asking
Better,does anyone knows a P/N for this (it is a 5 speed gear,not 6 speed like rs2,so it has a different p/n no?)
Thanks,
Costan.Last edited by CoCaine; 27 August 2010, 17:32.sigpicComment

I attempted to get one from Vagparts before they ceased trading, but they said the same. NLA. I ended up getting one out of Germany. Pricey stuff.
