    NLA - quick question

If a part is NLA in the UK from an Audi dealer, does this mean it will also be NLA from an Audi Dealer in germany (for the same part)?

Also NLA - "No Longer A?"

    Thanks

I'm not sure how it works in the UK, but in the US I've checked on a part at the dealer and it has come back NLA.......then sometimes I find it available in Germany. I also get told that the part is quote "obsolete" which means it is still available in German, but our importer, Audi of America, will not bring any more into the US.

Over here there are two ways to find if a part is obsolete. Either it appears obsolete on ETKA which means they are no longer in production anywhere or it appears obsolete on our ordering system which means someone has already tried to order one and the factory has rejected it as an obsolete part.

For parts which don't have an obsolete flag I can call Volkswagen UK and have them check the german systems to see if they are still showing it available. I am currently waiting back for an answer on RS2 gearknobs.

Even if a part is obsolete there is a chance another dealer in the country will have it and we can also check this on our ordering system. If no dealers in the UK are showing it then the final choice (in the UK) is to advise the customer to approach http://www.vw-classicparts.de who can source parts from across europe. Retailers can source parts through them but I doubt many would bother. Unfortunately due to an ongoing dispute between Volkswagen UK and the Classic Parts Centre the TPS network cannot.

Personally I wouldn't bother with Audi Tradition as I suspect they are the same people behind the names and classicparts.de will ship worldwide.

you also need to find a sympathetic parts dept bod, some cannot be bothered to dig further after the first hurdle. A lot of bits are in Germany its a case of getting your hands on them

Stoke Audi are the people you need!
                They are active on AudiSRS.
I recently asked them if an 80 Avant dog guard was still available, he said it was now NLA but has given me the contact number for a dealer showing 1 in stock (who I am calling today)
