    Stalk connectors and assembly removal

I'm looking to remove the indicator stalk assembly on my URS4 so I can either clean up the contacts for the left turn or replace it if that doesn't work.
However, i've come to a stop.
    Can anyone tell me:
1/ How do the connectors come out of the back? When they split, do I just pull the coloured part of the connector block back or is it the coloured and black part together.
I presume some or all of the black strips need to be unclipped but I'll be damned if I can which ones.

2/ When the connector blocks are out, what actually secures the stalk assembly in place? I haven't looked too hard yet but thought anyone answering my first question would be able to answer my second.
3/ The wiper stalk assembly seems to pivot around the bottom pin (when viewed from the front.) Is that correct or has a pin fallen out.

I reckon there won't be much difference between the URS4 and the S2.
    Cheers for any help.
Hopefully I can get this done before it gets dark.

I really dont understand what you are trying to do, but maybe this pic can help. This is the inside of the wiper stalk box.

    edit:

    1. The connectors on tha back, one on each side, come away with the colored part with them (pink on one side, dont remember the other colour).

    2. there is a hole in the lower trim, look under it. use a spotlight to see the screw inside.

******! Nothing like the URS4 assembly.
Hopefully this pic will help anyone understand what I'm on about. Do the purples come out of the black or do the purple and black come out together from the back of the assembly.
Thanks for the quick attempt at help Skull.

It is exactly the same as the urs4 assembly.

you have 4 connectors. from left to right: 1 headlight switches, 2 cruise control, 3 bord computer, 4 wipers.

Do you se the golden metal ring in the middle? look under it, there is a screw holding this ring. loose it, and the stalk will come out.

the connectors are very hard to remove. use a flat screwdriver, but disconnect the battery first to prevent short circuits!

You need to slide the purple tabs back and then you are able to remove the black connectors from the stalk.

First remove the 1. and 4. connector, pull the stalks away from the dash, and then carefully remove the CC and BC connectors.

you are so damn wrong here...

the purple tabs are holding the wires in the black connector.

found a pic of the back of the stalks with the connectors removed (there is no CC and BC connectors)

and a pic of the back of the connector, showing the pink plastic that holds the wires in.

                Excellent stuff.
I've just put it back together ready for use but will have a better go tomorrow now.
I did loosen the allen key screw underneath but thought I'd come and check this thread first before finding out whether the wires would stretch far enough to allow the whole thing to be pulled off the column.
That would make it much easier to remove theconnector blocks.
                Thanks

yes it should (just!) come off without disconnecting them...

Oops, my mistake. I was thinking of the connectors at the back of the AC/BC.
