Buy the flick key off eBay. Remove pin and take out key itself. Cut end off audi key that works in the car. (make sure it's a spare not the original) drill a small hole through the key so it acts as the pivot for the flick. Put in position and push the pin through. Bobs your uncle- 1 flick key for an audi s2.

It can be done, is diddly and yes I can prove it (if I could put up pictures) as me and a friend did this to make a flick key for his mk1 golf whilst keeping the original locks in situ.

Did anyone ever put a set of flip key barrel set from a late model cabrio into say a 95 Avant?

And central locking pump to have the remote central locking facility.

      Keen to understand what's involved?

Thanks for any comments either way?

This is mine with the imobo glass tube inside.

I'm working on putting the Toad internals in the key.

Jesus, how long ago did this thread start?

That'd be cool to have - save getting continually stabbed in the leg.

I should work on getting my S2 using 1 key rather than 3 different ones first, though.

Just read back through this and I must have been tired when I replied all those years ago.

Flip keys and remote locking can be done quite easily. I have retrofitted the factory system to my A4 and am confident it could be done on the S2 as well. The only bits you need are a IR ready pump and the flip key. The blade is simply a case of either modifying an existing key (as described by christophski above) or getting a blade from ebay etc that is designed for outer race flip keys.

The pump just needs swapping for IR one and an aerial wire fitting. I've not experimented on my S2 but if you can access the pump via vagcom then you just program it from there. If the original wiring doesn't support diagnostics then you would need to add some additional wires to access it.

Stupid question but how did you get the remote open? I have got the glass tube and my key is ready to be trimmed.

And you just located the tube under the cover? My key is the older one to yours( like you'd get off a 2005 audi A3 etc).
