Audi S2 Coupe ABY coating of the roof comes down, what can I do?
Hello friends, the platinum coating of the roof of my S2 Coupe ABY is comes down, I already know that is a common problem on S2/RS2 and also Coupe and 80 Avant models. This problem is caused from foam rubber that with the age crumbles and so the coating come down on the heads of rear passengers. Is possible to remake the foam rubber and glue the coating to the roof again?
Thanks a lot!
Alessio

Removal and re-lining is probably the only logical move. Alcantara is an nice option.
The decomposing rubber/foam bonding material is extremely nasty to remove as it sticks to everything and I found that once the lining has been removed and you start to remove the foam then you can use a little petrol dabbed onto a cloth to break down/remove the remainder of the foam traces from the backing board, to ensure you have a nice, clean surface to re-cover.
