Weight of RS2 and Recaro Pole Position seats?

Does anyone know how much the RS2 seats weigh?

Anyone weighed a Recaro Pole Position with mounting frame?

Not answering either question but telling you what I know...

    OE S2 seat is 22kg
Recaro Speed + frame is 19kg

I'd guess RS2 items are heavier with electric height adjust, PPs are slightly lighter than Speeds but not as much as you'd think as you need 2 side mounts to mount them to the frame.

I find that if I dont eat anything before I 'Track' and dont drink any fluids, empty my washer bottle, have only a couple of gallon of fuel in, take the jack out (my spare wheel is missing anyway), have my hair cut, have a poo, cut my toenails, wear only a pair of Marks and Spencer underpants with a small matching vest (In School Blue), hop up and down while driving, leave the cigaette lighter at home, take the reverse light bulb out and lastly take the overmats out..............This way, you will save 23 Kg, thus you can keep ya sexy recaros in, and not have silly bucket seats as if you were Stig Blomqvist on the 1988 Rally!

I love my pole position seat. I didn't bother weighing it when i arrived as i didn't think the bathroom scales would pick up on such an insignificant weight..

Only in height and that's a bit pointless if you're looking at saving weight! They're fixed back.

PP weighs 7kg according to Recaro technical sheet.

Teh problem is that you then have to mount it so add in 2.6 kg (not sure if that's each!) for steel sidemounts (1.1kg for aluminium) and about 5 kg for the frame with height adjuster bars and seat buckle.

              http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/pt67_1...ro-Race-Seats/

So I'd guess 15-17kg for a Pole Position.

Of course, you could blow the budget and get the carbon shelled PPs at a staggering 4.5kg each

                  Excellent. Please do.
Not planning to swap, as I want to keep the RS2 stock looking, but was interested in knowing since the German magazine Sport Auto claimed that the bucket seat option for the B5 RS4 saved 60kg (130lbs) over the regular RS4 seats.

I'm running a carbon fiber Corbeau bucket in my Golf, and it is actually more comfy than the RS2 Recaro in addition to fitting like a glove. It is like being held in a vice, but in a comfortable way.

60kg that's somewhat difficult to believe! 30kg, maybe, if they're CF with ally side mounts.

Did you get a chance to weigh the seats, Mr.Saltinot?

Yes,, I did. I forgot to respond. Mine are black leather with alcantara which weighed in at 22kg, IIRC. The full leather might weigh just a hair more.

I'll weigh them again just to confirm that I'm remembering correctly. Man, I'm getting old.
