  • Avant rear seat fixation

The passenger side rear backrest next to the door keeps popping(very loudly) out of its clip.
I push it back in OK and out it pops minutes or days later.
Any ideas on securing it ? Yes I could just glue it I guess but wondered if anyone had solved this problem in a more elegant fashion !!

That doesnt help me, but what is 37 ? Looking at pic again it could be clip(if it is) 17 or 36. The lower section is secured, the upper part pops out so it no longer sits flush when you look down on it with the door open.

17 is the lock mechanism. 15 is the plastic handle that is visible at the top of the seat. It should lock onto 18(?) which in turn is attached to 25. Its visible on 26.

It could be that the side part (25 or 26) has come loose and is not locking properly, or the seat is not going far enough back to lock properly.
If you've been carrying a heavy load and hit the brakes suddenly, it may have shunted into the back of the seat and bent a hinge or something. This might explain why the seat doesn't locate into the lock properly.

The coupe has a very similar seat fixing method and mine had the same problem. Pin 21 which sticks out of the side cushion needs to be adjusted somewhat. I slackened it and adjusted it until it was right.

Is it to stop the children in the back seat poking their hands through? or to stop the back seat driver from being heard?

Skull, is that bit really a genuine Audi part??? I have NEVER EVER seen that part number 37 in real life!! it is indeed a pad to fill in the hole 'so to speak!' but I've never seen it in real life. Is that it?? held in by a strap?

@alg Maybe.... just maybe... you need a new 21,22,23,24. I have seen these 'wear out' and just need replacing. 25 fits directly to the body of the car. Maybe these will help:
