  • Coupe Door Card Removal...

How are the door cards on the coupe removed?

I had a little look earlier but dont wanna pull or pry too much as they're the leather ones and dont want them damaged.

I need to fit a couple of new electric window switches as the drivers one is a lil dodgy and the one in the passenger door is a lil dodgy too.

    Thanks guys.

there is a screw behind the door open handle and some in the handle on the door once those are off lifts up and off and you have to disconnect the wire to the door open handle.

Same as the Avant AFAIK. You shouldn't need to remove the whole door card to change the window switches though - removing the front part of the door pull/armrest should be enough. IIRC there's a screw fixing at the rear of this & 2 allen keys at the front. The allen key fixings are awkward as access is concealed & you end up fishing around for the right angle to undo them. Just loosen them enough to pull the handle off the brackets.

Yep, had the door on mine apart last night, you need a 4mm allen key to undo the front two fixings on the grab handle, philips for the back one. All accessed from underneath. then switches can be changed with door card on no probs.

I've got T30 Torx on my 1990 CQ20v, in case the Allen key doesn't work.

Use ball end allen wrenches to make the job a bit easier. Just take your time and keep poking at different angles until you get it in (that's what she said)...
