Speedo part number enquiry

Hi all,

Years ago, Audi ordered the wrong speedo for my coupe, then forced me to pay for it before giving me the car back. Sad story I know but ended up getting the proper speedo fitted for free at a later date.
Anyway, have had the wrong speedo sitting in a box here for about 10 years now, and finally found what I think is the part number for it on a Parts Requisition form.

Part number is 8AI 957 033 D

Anybody know if this is the correct (ie WRONG for our cars) part?
It has a black face and says 8AO 190 A on the face, as well as AU-0003-009 around the edge.
I'm guessing it's for an Audi 80 or a regular coupe or something.

Anyway I want to stick it on ebay, don't want to list it wrongly, so any help appreciated.

8A1 957 033 D is listed as GB, 170 mph, 3B/ABY with kilometre trip recorder. Very odd that it has a black face and km trip counter.

Black face definitely, top speed is 160 mph, 260 kph, not sure about kph trip counter. Is that what it says on the parts list?
That does ring a bell though as to why they said it was the wrong part...

Would it be for a LHD car?

Actually that wouldn't make any sense, the main markings are for MPH...

That's right, the description I gave is quoted from the EPC, it isn't LHD as it designated for GB.
It sounds like it could be a speedo for a NA 5 cylinder coupe based on your description.

So, GB designated, probably for a non-turbo 80 coupe, where does the kilometres issue fit in? Just the trip counter?

kph for the trip is what it says, you would expect the odometer to read in kph too in that case. Which contradicts what the GB region uses.

Possibly an error in the parts listing?

Well I called the local dealer's parts dept, they have said it's for an 80 or coupe '89 to '96, so that's what I'm saying on ebay!
