Eventually got my Recaros fitted, I bought them on Ebay but had to get the centres re-trimmed and then I had to wait four weeks for base frames from Recaro Direct (they had to get them made in Germany) but it was worth the wait they feel great, just what the car should have had in the first place (along with decent brakes). Only slight drawback is getting in and out, the side bolsters are rather high compared to the originals.
They are Recaro Speed seats and the subframes were a costly £190 for the pair, I dare say you could modify the original ones if you are handy with a welder etc.
But it transforms the car.

They must be amazing...Recaros are on my to-do-before-spring list.
I have fitted them so they fit a low as possible at the back but slightly higher at the front. The subframes have three height settings, it only makes about 2cm difference.
The car does have a sunroof

2cm might make all the difference. I find it difficult to get the right seating position. you can slide the seat further back to get it lower, but doing that means your not at a comfortable position for my arms so I have the seat forward a little more and I prefer to sit a bit more upright that most people otherwise I get backache my head just catches the roof at the min so that little bit extra will make a fair difference and hopefully avoid sore heads over bumps.
I've measured vertically from the rear of the seat cushion to roof (lowest part) and it's 92cm and that's with the seat at it's lowest setting at the rear. I measured the adjustment and it's 25mm between min and max.
Hope this helps

I see that they are fitted to an Avant. Do you think that they would be OK in a Coupe?? As you need to 'flick' the seats forward to get the ppl in the rear.
