    A4 water leak

hoping somebody can help here, I have a 53 plate A4 1.8T avant. Just recently after heavy rain i noticed the front passenger carpet was wet. i have removed the interior plastic trims and glove box, so far i have traced a leak back to a polystyrene gromit in the A pillar but cant find where it is coming from passed that. the car doesnt have a sunroof and this only happens when it rains. I have removed, checked and blown out the drains below the battery but the water still appears. Also I have not had the windscreen replaced. Does anybody knw or have any other ideas of what I can check?

pollen filter housing is a common problem, it would need removing and resealling.

Is that the actual filter housing bolted on the body and not just the top? I have taken the top off and made sure it was on correct and secure Hate water leaks!!!

Still got a leak!! I have taken the pollen filter housing out, cleaned and re sealed it.
could the bonding for the windscreen be damaged or are there any other suggestions out there?

the area to the left of the pollen filter housing where the battery is fitted along with brake servo / e box. can fill up with water allowing water to build up and seep in thru various grommets, this is easily sorted from underneath with a long screwdriver (be careful not to get a good soaking if you have this condition), up both sides sides of the gearbox there are drains which get filled up with crap over time, just pop the screwdriver thru to free the blockage... i am very surprised re sealing the base of the pollen filter housing has not solved your problem, maybe try again but be more than generous with silicon type sealer,
