    DIY carpet?

Has anyone ever attempted to make their own coupe floor carpet?

I had a black carpet waiting where my car was previously stored but it had accidentally been thrown in the bin.....

So i was wondering if anyone has had a go at making their own with suitable materal, eg:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Orig...item2eb4985d15

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Carpet...item3f107c0814

I think for £20 it might be worth a pop.?

the OEM one is heat formed, not sure how you would achieve all the contours etc of the floor pan making it yourself?
IIRC from the FA the saloon / avant carpet is the the same as the ABY coupe and CQ
The 3B is the only odd one out, that won't fit properly due to the wider tunnel for the cats.

That stuff on ebay says its heat mouldable with hot air gun.

Probably easier to get a replacement carpet, just wondered if anyone had had a go themselves.
Cant remember what i paid for carpet as i got it with a pretty much full interior, but if i can get one for a decent price i might just have a crack at it for 20quid.

For £20 it has to be worth a bash as you can just use it as a liner under an OE carpet if it doesn't look great for some extra insulation/padding.

Let us know how you get on, I have a very scabby 3b carpet to put back in once I stop the infernal leaks.

Yes. I put a coupe carpet in my Avant. Only difference was the Coupe didn't have the holes in it for the rear seat mounts. So Avant into Coupe you may see these holes but they're small anyway.
