Heated seats cables?

I have an option to make some home made seat heating, but I first need to know where does the cables go from the seat into the carpets, or wherever they go... Any pics?

I didn't think they fitted the cables if the car did not have heated seats.

There is a post somewhere which shows the cables and switches for heated seats. It was posted by one of our Scandinavian members.

Skull buddy, be careful how you do it.

We don't want to hear about anything bad happening to you or your ride. It's tricky rigging up something like that. Have you got all the necessary switches and relays to do this? You can always score some of the components from a boneyard. Is the unit an Audi OEM or is it aftermarket?

guys, cool down, i don`t want to see my ride in flames either, i will do the wiring as it should be. i know there are no cables inside, but would like to know where are they ment to be and where the wires run from the seats into the carpets... i did a search on this forum but didn`t found anything

Skull checked mine out and my cables run up thru the console and then take a 90° turn under the seats. Does this help?

A bit, so they are in the center console, i now need the exact point where they get from the center console into the seat. do they get into the leg of the seat? is the cable just "hanging in the air"?

Skull: The wires come up just under the front of the seat where the seat's own rail which slides into the floor mount is connected. There is a slit in the carpet and the wires pop up there. There is a large amount of cable(taped wires together) under the seat which moves with the seat when it goes fore and aft.
This cable is binded together coming out of the console at just about 3/4 to the rear of the console.

It would be much better if the wires were under the carpet and came out from under the seat, out of the central mount, not from the side... damn i really need a pic to understand...

They come out of the carpet where the seat mounts to the floor at the front IIRC Skull.

Im so sorry, but really i don`t understand those english techincal words... What IIRC stands for? We have a seat with 2 legs and one central mount. Is this central mount we are talking about?

IIRC is If I Remember Correctly.

It is the central mount that the cables come out by. I've attached the workshop picture. I hope this makes it a bit clearer. The picture show the whole seat tilted forward so you can see the where the wiring is. Ignore the fact the seat is a different design to the ones we have fitted. It shows the electric seats but the wiring is in the same place.
