    Airbag dash?

Is there more than one kind of passenger airbag dash? Maybe an early and later version.

Are there door cards without the large front pocket that fit the airbag dash?

My question brought about from interior trim fitment.

I have read that the door cards are different... so some trim is slightly longer?

I seen a pic a long time ago of a non airbag door card installed next to an airbag dash; which showed how they didn't fit well together.

    Thanx
    Andrew

Try a search on user "Jonas" - I think it was him who had some trouble.

I can conform that early and later doorcards doesn't share carbon trim - so I'm stuck with plasticwood

Edit : Heres some info (coupe doorcards - same problem with complete cars, I suspect )

      thank you, that does help.

So the front door trims are different from non-airbag to airbag dash.

Aside from the Airbag letters on the dash trim; are the two the same size and shape? Can the airbag dash trim fit a non airbag dash?

I had lined up some trim to buy that have airbag on the dash... but it has been brought to my attention that the dash and door cards are the early style. Maybe the complete set was comprised from multiple cars.

Just looking for info to make a proper buying decision.

      Thank you
      Andrew

There ard two versions auf the passenger airbag dash. the first one till model year 94, and the new one for 95 and 96.

the one above is the older version.

but the doorcards for all of the airbag dash-versions are all the same.
but you can use them with the non airbag-dash as well

Best I can tell the Airbag dash has a glove compartment that bulges out; and the door cards have the large pocket.

Non Airbag dash has a flush glove compartment and door cards with short pockets.

Pics are not mine... offer good visual

I think we Ned some part numbers to compare too. I understand the cards and the dashes are different but though I do not doubt others I'm suspect to think the trims are all the same as far as the doors is involved rhd/lhd airbag no/airbag dash.

You can fit airbag dash door cards to non airbag models.
sure, they fit not perfectly, there is a small gap between the cards and the dashboard, but it works quite well

for example: the old dagdag from my ex-gf, 93 avant with seats and doorcards from a 95 dual airbag-car. nice enough for a daily beater

you're talking like never try to fit it... at first - try, then talk about it...

well, I tried and I did it. so I talk about it. just look at the picture above, before you talk in that way about me and my work
and all I can say is, that it works at all cars of the B4-platform. sure, these segments are different. but they still fit.
so if you ever visit bavaria, don“t hesitate to call me. I will show you this car
