Got hold of an RS2 speedo for my S2 and i have a problem. With the S2 cluster this is what happens. Turn on ignition and only the clock and tripcomputer light up, flick the stalk to the middle everything lights up and the same when stalk is in top level. With the RS2 cluster this is the scenario. Ignition only, clock and computer light up, stalk in middle, everything lights up BUT the trip computer goes black, can still se the digits but the lighting goes out, same with stalk in top level. What´s up?

Happened to me when i fitted the trip computer on the Cabriolet.
The reason of this behaviour was one of the two bulbs dedicated to the trip computer where playing up.
For me was a matter of cleaning (gently scrabbing the base of the bulbs on the circuit board) and changing the bulbs (probably it was just one but it's pretty hard to determine which one it's faulty.

I´ll try that then, thanks for the tip! But it seems a bit strange as the bulbs work fine when the light stalk is in bottom level. Any other suggestions?Comment

Yes it does look weird but that's how it works.
Now I don't remember if the two bulbs work simultaneously in both situations (light off n light on) or one works for offlights position and the other for onlights position but your issue it's the same I had.
If I remember well there's no difference in brightness in any of the positions.
For a logic function I would say it should have two bulbs on with lights off and one bulb with lights on but I can't bet on it.
